Copyright

Compiled by Liz Osborne (1995)

Defined by Webster's 9th as:  the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish, and sell the matter and form of a literary, musical or artistic work.

Copyright identifies who owns the work, and identifies the work as an original composition.  Plagiarism is using someone else's copyrighted work without obtaining permission to use it or without referencing whose work it really is.
